Dolled up in Dolly Wink Lashes
Last week, I had the honor of being one of the guests at a super intimate wedding in beautiful Napa Valley. It makes think twice about throwing my money away on a huge wedding...this was small, special, and a true celebration of love. That's exactly what I want for my own wedding...one day :) For now, I'll keep my wallet focused on my new lash obsession: Dolly Wink lashes by Koji. I recently bought two pairs from the
Tokyo Japanese Outlet on Amazon, and couldn't be happier with my purchase. With their expert eye-opening design by Tsubasa Masuwaka and light, fluttery structure, applying these lashes makes you an instant flirt - don't say I didn't warn you! I'm wearing the "Sweet Girly" lashes (in the turquoise packaging) in the pictures above - will do another post with the "Dolly Sweet" lashes soon!

Glossed up for Grandma's!

My boyfriend's grandma celebrated her 90th birthday this past weekend - how amazing is that?! She's one of the funniest, toughest, most blunt people I know and I just hope I have an ounce of her personality when I'm 90. Her party colors were brown and pink, so I thought it was most appropriate to celebrate with pink gloss. Buxom is my absolute favorite line of gloss (for its moisturizing, plumping and coloring powers) and I chose the color Tonya for this party. Check it out/buy it
here. It's described as a 'hot pink sparkle' on Sephora's site, but it's actually more mild on. Very wearable, but still super fun.

Victoria's Secret Sale!
The other day, I wandered into Victoria's Secret on a whim and was greeted by a major sale on their entire line of
Beauty Rush products - everything's 50% off! I looooooove me a sale and needless to say, I made out like a bandit on gloss. All this for $19 :)
I wanted to experiment with the Dazzleshine Lip Gloss in Dazzling Citrus first because, well, look at her:
This gloss has TONS of glitter so it's not subtle -- best suited for nightlife. It has a nice grapefruit flavor/scent and in terms of stickiness, it's pretty comparable to your average gloss. I like it, but I won't say I love it. I did love the price though. At only $3.50, this was completely worth taking a risk. In these shots, I applied about two thin coats of the gloss to my lips:

Nudy Nails
I'm a fan of really light, understated nails, especially during the Summertime. I'm also very fickle with nail polish purchases and have been known to disregard a bottle after just one use. At $7-10 a bottle for OPI or Essie, this bad habit of mine won't be economically feasible for very long.
Forever 21 Love & Beauty Polish to the rescue! The other day, I came across a pretty color that's right up my alley. It's simply named 'Beige.' Love that - it's $2.80 and straight to the point. Here's Miss Beige in action:

Boscia to the Rescue
If your skin is in need of a pick-me-up, I recommend the
Luminizing Black Mask from Boscia. And it's been a while since I've taken to any kind of mask/treatment, so take this recommendation seriously! I mean sure, you'll start off looking like a football player gone crazy with facepaint, but your skin truly ends up ... luminescent. Plus, this is a peel-off mask - WAY more fun than your standard wash-off mask!

Summer Fever
As soon as June hits, I'm overcome with an incurable case of Summer Fever. And since it's MID JULY, I'm positively burning up with an insatiable need to be in a beach cabana, intermittently soaking up the sun and dipping into the ocean. When I finally get the chance to do all of the above, I'll be toting along the following Summer essentials:
Burt's Bees Radiance products are my sweet-smelling, ultra-moisturizing surprise finds of this Summer. I'm currently hooked on their body wash (I'm obsessed how the smell lingers in the air after I've taken a shower), and their body lotion (it gives the body a nice subtle sheen and has the same amazing creamy-rosy fragrance of the body wash). I discovered the
Hampton Sun SPF 15 Gel last year, and have been hooked on it ever since. It's even more important during these hot Summer months. I carry it in my purse and spray it everywhere the sun hits my body! Since tomorrow is promising to be in the 100's, I'll have it on hand from 6AM on!

Obsession
Behold the
Smashbox Shades of Fame Reflection High Shine Lip Gloss Set. (That's like the supercalifragalisticexpialidocious of the cosmetics naming world!) Despite the mouthful of a name, every time I pass this set at Sephora or Macy's, I have to stop myself from diving into the shelves, scooping up three of them and making a mad dash to the checkout counter before I can process what I'm doing. The colors are so pretty, and the packages are so chic and slim...I need them!! I'm trying my best to squirrel away money this summer, so buying this would be breaking the law...let's see how long I can stave off this obsession
